Prof. Ts. Dr. Zainura Zainon Noor, FASc
Director, Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Water Security (IPASA)

Prof. Zainura Zainon Noor is a prominent expert in environmental sustainability and green technology with over 20 years of experience in research, policy development, and capacity building. She serves as the Director of the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Water Security (IPASA) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), where she leads interdisciplinary efforts in climate resilience, water governance, and sustainability innovation.

A Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), she plays a vital role in shaping national environmental policies through initiatives such as Water Sector Transformation 2040 (Air 2040) and the Science Outlook 2025. Internationally, she was an ASEAN-U.S. Science and Technology Fellow, applying scientific insights to policymaking across Southeast Asia.

Prof. Zulkifli bin Yusop

Chair of the Water Committee, Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM)

Prof. Zulkifli bin Yusop is a distinguished thought leader in Malaysia’s water and environmental landscape, with a career rooted in academic excellence, public service, and policy advisory. As a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Water Security (IPASA), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), he brings decades of experience in hydrology, water resource management, and sustainability science to the forefront of national and regional efforts.

His leadership extends beyond academia into high-level national roles. As Chair of the Water Committee under the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), Prof. Zulkifli has been instrumental in steering Malaysia’s strategic direction on water security and resilience, advocating for evidence-based policies to tackle pressing challenges like climate change, water scarcity, and pollution.

His commitment to good governance and environmental stewardship is reflected in his appointment to the Board of Directors of Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS), where he plays a critical role in shaping sustainable water resource management for one of the country’s most populous and industrialized states.
